In Newzik, you can annotate PDF and MusicXML Pieces using an extensive array of tools.

There are three ways to open the annotation toolbar and enter annotation mode:

• From the top menu bar: click anywhere in the middle of the screen to make the menu bars appear, and click on the pencil icon on the right of the top menu bar
• With an Apple Pencil: If you use an Apple Pencil, you can start drawing directly on the page if "Direct Annotation Mode" is turned on
• Using your fingers: Tap anywhere on the screen with two fingers at a time

To close the annotation toolbar and leave annotation mode, click on the grey cross on the right side of the toolbar, or tap anywhere on the screen with two fingers at a time.

Please note that it is not necessary to close the annotation toolbar (“Done” button) in order for your edits to be saved – annotations are saved as soon as they are made.

If you use an Apple Pencil, you can start drawing directly without having to open the annotation toolbar first

Note: You can turn off Direct Annotation Mode in the "Annotation Settings" section of the Features menu.
